Gemara Sukkah, Daf 2a: The Mishna in the Original Hebrew and Translation
Before learning anything, it’s a good idea to have an initial familiarity with the relevant texts or content. To aid in that endeavor, I have included below the Mishna in it’s original Hebrew as well as two English translations. The first is from Chatgpt (4o) and the second from Sefaria (which is actually one part translation, one part explanation).
If you can read Hebrew, then start with the Mishna in the original Hebrew and then proceed to both English translations. Other wise, just start with the first translation.
Oh, and don’t worry if you don’t. understand what you are reading - we’ll work on the understanding part in the articles to come. For now, just get a basic familiarity and we’ll take it from there.

Original Hebrew
סכה שהיא גבוהה למעלה מעשרים אמה, פסולה.
רבי יהודה מכשיר.
ושאינה גבוהה עשרה טפחים,
ושאין לה שלשה דפנות,
ושחמתה מרבה מצלתה, פסולה.
English Translation (chatgpt 4o)
A sukkah that is taller than twenty cubits is invalid.
Rabbi Yehuda deems it valid.If it is not at least ten handbreadths high,
if it does not have three walls,
or if its sunlight exceeds its shade,
it is invalid.
English Translation with Explanation (sefaria)
A sukka, i.e., its roofing, which is the main and most crucial element of the mitzva, that is more than twenty cubits high is unfit.
Rabbi Yehuda deems it fit.Similarly, a sukka that is not even ten handbreadths high,
and one that does not have three walls,
and one whose sunlight that passes through its roofing is greater than its shade are unfit.
